You could find the attractive and comfortable life in rural areas in Aomori through the rural landscape, old traditional culture and warm relationship.
Green Tourism is described as a tour to enjoy the communication with people and feel the wealth of nature, history or culture in the rural areas.
Four seasons are clearly defined in Aomori and you could enjoy variety of farm works in spring and summer. You may enjoy harvesting of local product in autumn. It is the off-season of farm works in winter so that your host-family will show you Japanese culture such as making rice cake, playing with snow or wearing “kimono”.
Aomori Prefecture addresses Green Tourism to accept students or visitors for agricultural experience and to manage restaurants, guest house and produce stand by farmers’ organization. You could experience different customs or different style of agriculture, forestry and fishing in Tsugaru, Nanbu and Shimokita District. Probably you cannot find those distinctions in other prefectures.
The new Shinkansen line of JR (Japan-Railway) had been full opened between Tokyo Station and Shin-Aomori Station on December 4th, 2010 and the access to Aomori became more convenient.
